Asus Zenfone 2 and Zoom smartphones to be launched in India

It is the run up to the MWC  and Asus is sending out feelers on what’s going to be on display at Barcelona. News is that their second range of Zenfone series smartphones will start its ride in India in the second quarter of this year.

It’s reported that the Taiwanese manufacturers is planning to launch Zenfone 2 and Zenfone Zoom smartphones in India during Q2, which refers to the period between July and Summer in the Indian financial calendar.

Reports are that Asus will be presenting the Zenfone 2 in multiple variants. The one spotted version includes a spec sheet of 5.5 inch full HD display, 13 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front camera, 16 GB internal memory, a 3000 mAh battery and dual-SIM LTE connectivity.

The reported version is also to be featured in two processor variants; the Intel Atom Z3580 and Z3560 model, with RAM expected to be 2 GB or 4 GB.

Other version of Zenfone 2 reported features an Intel Atom Clover Trail 1.6 GHz processor and will be coming with 2 GB RAM availability.

The camera specs have also been reduced with the 8MP rear shooter, and 2 MP front shooter. Battery juice will be provided by a 2500 mAh battery and will also have 16 GB on-board space available.

It is reported that Zenfone 2 will be the one to touch the Indian markets first, which will be followed soon by Zenfone Zoom.

The camera-centric device hosts a similar spec sheet as that of Zenfone, but will be arriving with a better camera of 13 MP with 3X zoom, accompanied by a front-cam of 5 MP.

It will also be featuring wide options for its on-board storage, varying from 16 GB to up to 128 GB. Both the devices will be running the Android L OS.

Asus has also announced  the products to be lined up for the upcoming Mobile World Congress, which includes Fonepad line, Fonepad 7 LTE (ME372CL) and Fonepad 7 (ME175CG), Zenfone models and also the new PadFone.
