In the fourth day’s play of the second test match played between India and Sri Lanka at the P. Sarvanamuttu stadium in Colombo, India declared their innings at the score of 325 for 8 wickets and set a target of 413 for the Lankan team.

At the end of the day’s play Sri Lanka scored 72 runs for the loss of two wickets; with Angelo Mathews and Dimuth Karunaratne in the middle Sri Lanka still need 341 runs to win this match.

Well it was not a dream farewell for the last innings of Kumar Sangakkara’s innings, as again Ashwin dismissed him on the score of 18 for the fourth time in four innings.

Virat Kohli

Ajinkya Rahane who was the top scorer in the Indian batting side, scored 126 runs which helped India to set a good target for the Lankans.

Murli Vijay also contributed to the score by scoring 82 runs.

For the Lankans, it was Dhamika Prassad and Tharindu Kushal who took four wickets each.

In the second innings, Sri Lanka lost an early wicket of JK Silva at the score of just eight runs.

Both the wickets of the Lankan innings were taken by Ashwin, at the end of the day Ashwin took two wickets by giving 27 runs in his over’s bowled.
