‘Sikandar Ka Muqaddar’ Review: A Riveting Tale of Crime and Justice

Cast:

The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast with Jimmy Shergill as Jaswinder Singh, a determined police officer, Avinash Tiwary as Sikandar Sharma, the enigmatic suspect, Tamannaah Bhatia as Kamini Singh and wife of Avinash, Rajeev Mehta as Mangesh Desai, another suspect and Divya Dutta and Zoya Afroz in supporting roles.

Plot:

Set against the backdrop of a high-profile diamond heist in 2009, “Sikandar Ka Muqaddar” follows Officer Jaswinder Singh’s relentless pursuit of justice.

The story unfolds over 15 years, delving into the lives of three prime suspects: Sikandar Sharma, Kamini Singh, and Mangesh Desai.

In the inspector gets a divorce from his wife and also gets suspended from work.

As Singh’s obsession with solving the case intensifies, the lines between guilt and innocence blur, leading to a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase that spans multiple cities, including Abu Dhabi.

Review:

The movie is predictable because they narrow out only three suspects out of 100s of people in the hall. There is no other angle to the story. The climax is also not convincing enough for a wow factor. We don’t want to reveal the spoilers here.

Critics have praised the film for its strong performances and intricate storytelling. Jimmy Shergill’s portrayal of the obsessive cop has been particularly lauded.

Avinash Tiwary and Tamannaah Bhatia also deliver standout performances, bringing their characters to life with authenticity and intensity.

However, some reviews have noted that the film’s extended runtime and pacing issues detract from its overall impact. While the initial setup is engaging, the narrative’s shift between past and present can feel sluggish at times.

Despite these criticisms, “Sikandar Ka Muqaddar” remains a must-watch for fans of the heist genre, offering a unique blend of suspense, drama, and psychological intrigue.
