The A.R. Murugadoss-directed “Kaththi” has been in news since the timing of its trailer release was close to the actual release of the movie.

However now this much awaited Vijay-starrer “Kaththi” which was treading in rough sea has been cleared for release as scheduled.

The blow to the release date came when Tamil Fringe groups refused to allow the release of the movie till the name of Lyca productions name from the Banner.

The IB Times wrote, “The response coming from the opening shows are positive. People are talking about Vijay’s intro song, pre-interval action sequence and the good storyline.

“His character of Kathiresan seems to have impressed them. More importantly, they feel that “Kaththi” is coming up with a good message”

While this conflict is getting sorted out the Tamil Nadu Theatres Owners Association states that they would not open the bookings for the movie.

This decision was made as the theater owners had faced similar situation when “Vishwaroopam” was scheduled to be released and the delay there after the owners faced loss when the release was delayed.

The reason why Tamil Fringe group is requesting for the removal of the name of Lyca production from the banner is because the production house has a ‘ yet unproven’ link between the films producer and Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The Hindustan Times wrote, ” Vijay is in all his ‘star’ glory in this one. He is the go-to man to beat up the baddies, and, at the same time, adept at arousing a bunch of helpless villagers from the clutches of a mean-minded greedy industrialist/corporate set to rob them of only asset (we don’t know yet if it’s land or oil!).”

The production company Lyca productions has sat down with the Pro-tamil groups, theater owners and distributors to decide on the fate of the movie.

However till a decision is made the producers have decided to release the movie in other parts of the country and abroad. This is mainly because of the diwali crowd that producers expect which will impact the revenue of the movie.

Actor Vijay is not new to this situation as his earlier movie “Thalaivaa” faced a similar fate and was released much later in Tamil Nadu than the rest of the country.
