Imran Khan, the charming ex- cricketer turned politician from Pakistan has married his girlfriend secretly. The 62-year-old cricketer turned politician had been dating 41-year-old Reham Khan.
They are believed to have married last weekend in a simple ceremony which had remained a secret until now.
Both Imran Khan and Reham Khan have been married before. He was married to Jemima Goldsmith Khan who was a socialite from UK but their marriage culminated in a divorce in 2004. Together they have two boys, Sulaiman Isa and Kasim.
Reham, like her husband, is a divorcee and has three children from the previous marriage. She worked as a presenter and weather girl for BBC when she lived in Britain during her first marriage.
Jemima did hint on the impending wedding when she revealed that she will be dropping the surname ‘Khan’ and will be going back to her maiden name. The reason for this change was cited to be her ex – husband’s decision to remarry.
The reason for keeping the wedding a secret was the strong opposition that Imran has been facing from his family. All of his relatives and his family including his sisters are said to oppose this union. All of them are reportedly shocked that he did go ahead with the marriage.
Dr Shahid Masood who is a political commentator and also a very close friend of the cricketer has went on to say that the news has neither been accepted nor been denied by Imran.
Although, speculations are rife, an official announcement is yet to be made by the couple.
