Hyundai to launch new Verna and i20 along with a compact SUV

Korean automaker Hyundai is all set to create dominance in the Indian market as they plan to cross the half-a-million sales mark by 2016. To achieve this figure, the company is planning to launch new editions of Verna and i20 in the first half of 2015.

Along with the i20 and Verna cross overs, the company will also launch a compact SUV which is codenamed Gci. This SUV is expected to overpower

Ford Ecosport which is now the bestseller in the sub-four meter segment. The new SUV is slated for a launch in the second half of this calendar year.

Bo Shin Seo, the CEO and MD at Hyundai Motor India told that the company aims new heights in the year 2015. He added that the introduction of the new Hyundai Verna and SUV will increase the market share further.

Rakesh Srivastava, the Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Hyundai Motor India told that Hyundai will emerge as a strong challenger in the Utility Vehicle segment.

As per Rakesh, the primary aim of the company is to grab at least 5% of the share in the SUV market. This will in turn help the company to increase their passenger vehicle market share by 1%further.

The new SUV from Hyundai is expected to be more roomier and powerful, and it will have all the characteristics of a real SUV. This SUV is expected to come out with both petrol and Diesel engines.

If reports are true, then this new vehicle will be priced somewhere between the Ford EcoSport and the Renault Duster.
