After Meta, Google Is Likely To Start Testing Blue Check Marks For Verified Ads

Google on Trial: U.S. Accuses Tech Giant of Antitrust Abuse

On April 3, some reports surfaced claiming Google, inspired by Twitter and Meta, is experimenting with displaying blue check marks on select advertisements for marketers certified by Google Ads.

The Blue Check Of Validation

As per INDIA TV reports, the tech mogul intends to place blue checkmarks next to select ads. This unique mark of ad validity will have a blue circle with ridges inside it and a checkmark.

These blue marks are most likely part of Google’s advertising verification program. SEO analyst Khushal Bherwani was the first to notice Google’s test for blue checkmarks for certified marketers.

The Blue Badge may lead to increased click-through rates and conversions, and it might also make the ad stand out from others that do not have the check mark.

Google still needs to issue an official statement on this new verified advertising feature.

Meta’s Take On Verified Advertising

In February, Meta revealed that it was trying paid verification for Instagram and Facebook, inspired by Elon Musk’s Twitter. The Tesla CEO changed several things, including how Twitter verifies users. The blue tick of verification, formerly a sign of legitimacy, is now a feature of Twitter Blue, a premium membership service from Twitter that grants exclusive rights to only those who pay for it.

The “Meta Verified” package, initially introduced in Australia and New Zealand, includes a verified label, more robust impersonation security, and immediate access to customer assistance. The monthly fee for the subscription plan is $11.99 for the web and $14.99 for mobile.

Mark Zuckerberg announced last month that customers in the US would soon be able to subscribe to Facebook and Instagram.
