The long-awaited first look at Martin Scorsese’s latest film, ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, has finally arrived. The trailer, which debuted online today, showcases the stunning visuals and the star-studded cast of the historical crime drama based on the bestselling book by David Grann.
The film tells the story of the Osage Nation murders in 1920s Oklahoma, where members of the Native American tribe were systematically killed after oil was discovered on their land. Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro play two key figures in the investigation: Ernest Burkhart, a white man who married into the Osage family, and Tom White, a former Texas Ranger hired by the FBI to solve the case.
The trailer reveals glimpses of the lavish production design, the sweeping cinematography, and the tense atmosphere of the film, which Scorsese has described as “a Western”. It also hints at the complex relationship between Burkhart and White and the corruption and violence that plagued the Osage community.
‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ marks the first collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio since 2013’s ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, and the first between Scorsese and De Niro since 1995’s ‘Casino’. The film also features a supporting cast of Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, and more.
The film is expected to be released in theaters and on Apple TV+.
