IPL 2015 Opening Ceremony Photos: Anushka, Hrithik sizzle

After a delayed start, the much awaited opening ceremony of the IPL 8th edition was held amidst much fan fare at the Sal LAke Stadium in Kolkata on Tuesday.

Virat Kohli arrived with his beau Anushka Sharma hand-in-hand for the glittering inauguration ceremony.

A galaxy of Bollywood celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Farhan Akhtar and others were all lined up to perform at the event as rain threatens to disrupt the proceedings.

It has been drizzling in Kolkata as a packed Salt Lake Stadium awaits for the start of the Opening Ceremony.

The opening ceremony was supposed to start at 7:30 p.m. India time but due to rain it has been delayed.

The first match will be played between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indian on March 8, 2015 at the same venue.

The IPL 8 is being live telecasted by Sony Set Max Tv channel in India and viewers from across the world can catch the action live on the official website of Sony.

More than 400 people have been hired to perform at the grand ceremony which is choreographed by Remo D’Souza and Santosh Shetty.

Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor and Anushka Sharma will set the floor on fire for a eight to ten minutes performance.

Saif Ali Khan will be the host for the evening. All the captains of the eight IPL teams will be present to take the MCC Spirit of Cricket pledge.
