Jane Fonda Reveals Robert Redford Didn’t Like to Kiss ‘He Has an Issue with Women’

"He Has an Issue with Women"

Jane Fonda and Robert Redford have starred in four movies together, but it sounds like their on-screen chemistry didn’t always translate off-screen. During an appearance at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, Fonda revealed that Redford “did not like to kiss” and “has an issue with women.”

“I was in love with him,” Fonda said. “But he did not like to kiss. He has an issue with women.”

Fonda and Redford first appeared together in the 1967 film “Barefoot in the Park.” They went on to star in the 1972 film “The Chase,” the 1979 film “The Electric Horseman,” and the 1985 film “Out of Africa.”

In a 2017 interview, Redford said that he and Fonda had a “great working relationship.”

“We had a lot of fun together,” he said. “We were both very professional, and we both wanted to make the best movie possible.”

However, it seems that Fonda’s experience of working with Redford was not always so positive. In her recent comments, she hinted that Redford may have been uncomfortable with physical intimacy with women.

“I never said anything [to him about it],” she said. “And he’s always in a bad mood, and I always thought it was my fault.”

It’s unclear why Redford may have had an issue with kissing women. However, it’s worth noting that he has never been married and has no children.

Whatever the reason for Redford’s discomfort, it’s clear that Fonda’s experience of working with him was not always a pleasant one.
