The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations has declared the results of HSC class 12 exam which was conducted in March 2015 on May 7, 2015.
Candidates can check their results at the government’s official website: http://tnresults.nic.in. Students need to enter the registration number and date of birth to get their results.
The TOI reported that ,” Two Chennai schoolgirls shared the top rank in the Class 12 state board exams in Tamil Nadu announced by the Directorate of Government Examinations on Thursday.
Sresha C S of Velammal Matric Higher Secondary School, Mogappair East, and S Mahalakshmi of DAV Higher Secondary School, Gopalapuram, scored 1194 each out of 1200.
Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education, founded in the year in 1910, functions under the Department of Education, Government of Tamil Nadu. The board conducts board examinations for class 10 and the class 12.

The scores of the class 12 board examinations are used by universities across state and now NITs as a cut-off for admissions into graduate programs.
The board conducts examinations for class 10 in the SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) stream, OSLC (the Oriental School Leaving Certificate) stream, the Anglo-Indian stream and the Matriculation stream.
For class 11 and class 12 there is single unified stream leading to the award of the HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate).
