Ranbir Kapoor starrer “Besharam” which started well at the box-office with a collection of Rs 20.50 crores on its 1st day has failed to live upto its expectations.
The movie which released to a record number of 3600 screens in India and 700 abroad on Wednesday, collected just Rs Rs.7.13 crores on Thursday. Its Friday collections were even bad at Rs 5.68 crore.
Usually Saturday collections will be much better for a movie which is the only movie released. But its Saturday collections was very less. IT collected just Rs 5.94 crores on Saturday, for a total of Rs 40.31 crores.
“Besharam” which was made at a budget of Rs 60 crores stars Ranbir Kapoor’s parents Rishi and Neetu Kapoor too. The film is now in a danger of earning less than the cost incurred to produce it.
Trade Analysts were not impressed with the movie and wrote on the day of the release that the word of mouth will deplete the collections of the movie in the coming days. The same happened and the movie did not do well at the box-office in the subsequent days.
Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama described the movie as “epic disappointment”.
The movie was directed by Abhinav Kashyap and produced by Himanshu Mehra and Sanjeev Gupta.
