Dhoni at the toss

The hosts have been on a roller coaster ride so far, with none of the tried changes working for them. They wouldn’t want to take a chance today, given that it may just put the entire series in doubt.

Skipper Dhoni has a lot to stake this time, given that his decision to get Ajinkya Rahane in the 3rd spot hasn’t been approved by many in the 1st match. This also takes Kohli to the 4th position, which is again something that raised eyebrows.

While Rahane did show some mettle with the bat, it became obvious that Kohli is needed at No. 3. India also has a star in Rohit Sharma, who played a great knock and yet couldn’t save the game for India.

Dhoni’s battle with the bat is going to be another thing that may have the critics talking, so it’s best that the skipper gets his form back.

As for South Africa, things may be a tad harsh with a few fitness issues. Faf Du Plessis has a knee problem, but given that all players are rather performing well, the visitors are much in a high position for now.
