TV9 Kannada live news: Karnataka announces 14 days lockdown

Battered by a significant rise in COVID cases, Karnataka will be under complete lockdown for 14 days from today, according to Livemint. This lockdown will take effect from April 27, 2021, at 9:00 PM to May 12, 2021. 

The curfew is imposed based on the present scenario of around 30,000 infections per day in the state.

  Let us look into the instructions to be followed during this period:

Everything closed and denied:

Schools, colleges, and other educational institutions will remain shut down, encouraging only online education. Also, the places of worship will not be opened.

Cinema halls, theatres, and other areas of entertainment will also remain shut. All political events and gatherings will also be canceled. Hotels and restaurants are closed, but home delivery shall continue.

Marriages with more than 50 people are strictly prohibited. Huge social gatherings are banned. All swimming pools except those with approval from the Swimming Federation of India will remain inaccessible.

Everything allowed:

Public transport is allowed only to students traveling for exams or admission purposes. Flight services will remain open, and those with flight tickets will be allowed to avail themselves of the transport services.

Government services like defense, police forces, CNG, LPG, power generation, etc., will continue their terms. Hospitals and nursing homes will be opened for 24 hours of service. The aged and the children or other disabled individuals needing daily help will be free to get help from their nurses or nannies. The government will not stop the Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

The Reserve Bank of India will stay under function, but the number of employees will be limited. All the other banks and the ATMs will remain open but also with limited staff. The groceries and other shops dealing with the daily wages will have no restrictions, followed by the pharmacies.

Other than these, all state people are highly requested to follow the COVID guidelines/protocols strictly. In times of need or to get a COVID test, people might avail transport only after wearing masks and carrying sanitizers.
