Uttarakhand receives 80 metric tonnes of oxygen from Centre

The Indian State of Uttarakhand recently received 80 metric tonnes of oxygen from the Central government. This recent development might be news of relief to the state in such difficult times where the oxygen demand is the highest and several patients face deaths due to the crisis in oxygen level. The oxygen was dispatched to different districts of Uttarakhand on May 12. 2021. The state was never going through a shortage of oxygen like most other states, but an increase in the number of oxygenated beds required and COVID care units demanded more oxygen supply which has now been met. The other states should also be provided with oxygen directly to win the battle against the coronavirus.

The CM thanked the PM:

The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Tirath Singh Rawat, thanked the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi for the urgent supply of oxygen. He further praised the Central government for taking up such a step in the time of need. The vaccination for the age group between 18-44 had also begun a few days ago, as mentioned by the CM. He adds to it the fact that the results of the vaccination are entirely in favor of the state. The people of the state have also shown a positive response to the vaccination program. All of these support the view that the state would soon be able to handle the entire situation. The CM equally thanked the Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal, for his cooperation in handling the case.

Condition of Uttarakhand right now:

Uttarakhand is right now under complete lockdown for a week, starting from May 11, 2021, to May 18, 2021, reports Thehindu.com.. Now the oxygen has also arrived. The vaccination for all above 18 had also begun previously. All this gives hope that the state will successfully fight the pandemic and gain victory over the crisis very soon. Till then, all the state’s people need to do is abide by all the lockdown rules and listen to the government because a country can win only when the countrymen give their cent percents in something.
