Akshay Kumar’s movie, BellBottom, has collected ₹12.65 crores over the first weekend. Despite the covid-19 restrictions, this was the first movie to be released in theatres after the second wave of covid. Although limited seating might affect the overall revenue, the film was able to amass ₹4.30 crore on Sunday itself.

‘Bell Bottom’ public review

The movie witnessed a spike of 35% on Sunday due to the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The makers of the film along with Akshay Kumar have the option of releasing the film on all digital platforms, four weeks after the film’s release. Amazon Prime Video has already taken the streaming rights and would be soon releasing the film on their platform.

The movie has also surpassed Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao’s movie, Roohi, which was released on March 11 and had the biggest opening weekend collection of ₹12.58 crore this year. Theatres being shut in cities like Mumbai and Pune have strongly affected the overall revenue.
According to Akshay Kumar, if the current scenario is to be taken, then ₹30 crore is equivalent to ₹100 crores. The movie also received good reviews from critics. After BellBottom, Akshay Kumar has many films lined up like Prithviraj and Atrangi Re.
