History of ‘International Fun at Work Day’
In 1996, the first “International Fun at Work Day” was celebrated in a company called Playfair. The owners of Playfair ran a business to bring fun to academic induction ceremonies. They believed that employees who have a fun and relaxed environment are more productive and effective in their assignments as compared to others who don’t.
If April 1 is not a working day, then the last working day before April 1 is celebrated as “International Fun at Work Day”. Many studies have shown that companies that prioritise the well-being of their employees have higher productivity levels. Employees need stimulation to generate new ideas for the company.
How to celebrate “International Fun at Work Day”?
Enjoy food with your colleagues. It can help you to shape the bond and solidarity, over things like work-related stress. Make this day fun by playing games. Divide all people into teams to increase the winning in the competition. The games that should surround your workplace can be Q&A sessions, Truth or Dare etc. Having some rewards and penalties for mistakes will ensure more fun in the games.

The office meetings generally reduce the productivity of employees. Alcohol though in fewer amounts can increase the productivity and creativity levels of the employees. Multitasking might seems like a good sign, but it reduces the productivity of a person and can lead to a stressful and unhappy work environment.
