‘Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’ Gets New Trailer

A new teaser trailer for the highly anticipated upcoming film Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero has been released, highlighting some of the movie’s upcoming battle scenes.

The new teaser doesn’t give away too much, but does show brief glimpses of Gohan — both in regular and Super Saiyan forms — battling against Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 of the Red Ribbon Army. It also showcases the cleaner and more crisp animation style that director Tetsuro Kodama and original manga creator Akira Toriyama teased last year.

Check out the new Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero trailer below:

Originally set to premiere earlier in the year, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was delayed following a hack that hit Toei Animation in March, forcing a variety of delays onto different series and other projects. Earlier this month, Crunchyroll confirmed that the film would be getting a global theatrical release in both subbed and dubbed formats, marking the first time that Crunchyroll would be globally distributing a theatrical release of a film.

“The Red Ribbon Army was once destroyed by Son Goku. Individuals, who carry on its spirit, have created the ultimate Androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2,” reads the official synopsis. “These two Androids call themselves ‘Super Heroes’. They start attacking Piccolo and Gohan … What is the New Red Ribbon Army’s objective? In the face of approaching danger, it is time to awaken, Super Hero!”

The anime adaptation of Dragon Ball Super ended in March 2018 after 131 episodes aired. This marks the second movie for Dragon Ball Super, which is the highly successful sequel series to Dragon Ball Z. The first film was Dragon Ball Super: Broly, which was directed by Tatsuya Nagamine and written by Akira Toriyama. Broly takes place after the events of the Universe Survival Saga, and features Goku and Vegeta taking on the legendary Saiyan.
