New Jersey Stimulus Payment: Deadline To Collect Check For Immigrant Workers

Since the coronavirus epidemic began, the state and federal governments have provided significant financial assistance. However, a lot of those programs did not include foreign-born employees.

To help these workers, New Jersey established the Excluded New Jerseyans Fund. Even though the application period for this New Jersey stimulus payment for foreign employees has ended, individuals who have already registered but have not yet provided the necessary documentation may still do so. However, these applicants need to act quickly because there is only one month before the document submission deadline.

Applications For The Immigrants

A group that advocates for immigrant, working-class, and Latinx communities, about 35,000 families have submitted applications for the immigrant labor stimulus payment from New Jersey. However, due to a lack of supporting evidence, about 50% of these applications run the danger of not receiving funding. Those who must submit documentation to get the stimulus payment from New Jersey for foreign workers are receiving reminders from the administration.

Fund For Unauthorised Immigrants

Governor Phil Murphy introduced the Excluded New Jerseyans Fund in May 2021. This Fund was established primarily to assist unauthorized immigrants and other workers who have turned away from financial assistance during the coronavirus outbreak. This is a one-time deposit that provides qualified households with immediate monetary assistance.

The Fund’s application deadline was February 28, but those interested in applying had until September 30 to complete the necessary paperwork. Now, the New Jersey Department of Human Services has announced that the date has been pushed to October 31.
