Digital release date of 'Black Adam officially revealed

It’s been only a month since ‘Black Adam’ was released on the big screen. Now all those who missed the experience at the theatre will be able to enjoy it on the small screen.

Warner Bros. has officially revealed the digital release date of the film on November 21, and it is now confirmed to arrive on digital platforms on November 22. The film will be released on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD on January 3, 2023. The news comes after the film broke several box office records last month but is reportedly banned from being released in China.

Marvel’s ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ has also gone through the same problem after Warner Bros. Discovery’s current CEO David Zaslav hinted that there would be some experimentation with the release strategies of a few films instead of attempting to shuffle movies from theatres to their HBO Max streaming service right away.

The home release of ‘Black Adam’ is confirmed to have unique features like The History of Black Adam, Who is The Justice Society, From Soul to Screen, Black Adam: A Flawed Hero, Black Adam: New Tech in an Old World, Black Adam: Taking Flight, Kahndaq: Designing a Nation, The Rock of Eternity, Costumes make the hero and Black Adam: A new type of action.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, ‘Black Adam’ was released on October 21, 2022. It received mixed reviews from critics, praising its visual effects, action sequences, and Dwayne Johnson’s performance but criticism towards the screenplay and villain.

Apart from Johnson, the film features Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan in the lead roles. The film has grossed around $366.9 million at the box office. The plot focuses on Adam, an ancient superhuman who is released from his magic imprisonment by a group of archeologists to free the nation of Kahndaq from the crime syndicate Intergang.

A sequel has not been announced yet, but Johnson confirmed plans for Adam’s character to fight Superman in the DCEU and reaffirmed plans to crossover with Shazam. Henry Cavill also confirmed his involvement in the DCEU on October 24, saying that his mid-credits cameo appearance was just a tiny taste of things to come.
