The much awaited Tamil movie of Vikram, ‘I’ was released successfully with the audience loving the twist on the age old love – revenge story.
The movie was released on January 14 in 400 screens in Tamil Nadu, 232 screens in Maharashtra and 30 screens in Kerala with the first show being slated at 5:30 a.m.
Rumoured to be made at a whooping Rs. 185 crore, it stars Vikram and Amy Jackson in the lead with model turned actor Upen Patel also essaying an important role.
It did deliver what it promised to be, a trendsetter. The movie’s Hindi version will be released on 16 January with a select paid premiere organised on 15 January. The movie is also expected to be released in United States, Australia and also Malaysia.
Vikram portrays the role of Lingesan who works to become a body builder and Mr. Tamil Nadu. He then meets Amy Jackson and falls head over heels for her.
After learning that she is from the modelling industry; he ditches his dream, changes his name to Lee and becomes a model. Amy too later falls for Lee.
Vikram watches “I” first day first show:
All is not well in this hunky dory love affair. All of the glitz and colour is snatched away from Lingesan’s life but he does not give up there. How he tries to regain his lost dreams forms the rest of the movie.
Vikram’s years of dedication shines through in the movie as he excels in portraying the role of Lingesan. Amy Jackson also plays her role well and unlike most movies is an integral part of this movie.
Upen Patel could’ve used a little more display of emotion as his role demanded him to do that. The acting skills of Ramkumar and Suresh Gopi have been utilised well by the director.
The Vfx used in the movie is brilliant. The camera work by PC Sreeram is impeccable. AR Rahman as always outstanding in composing the background score.
