'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan':

‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ (KKBKKJ), a Hindi action comedy film directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Salman Khan Films, was released on 21 April 2023, coinciding with the Eid festival.

The film is a remake of the 2014 Tamil film ‘Veeram’ and stars Salman Khan, Venkatesh, Pooja Hegde and Jagapathi Babu in the lead roles.

The film was released in around 4500 screens in India, I,e 16,000 plus shows a day!

Review – plot

The film revolves around Bhaijaan (Salman Khan), a self-defense trainer who lives happily with his three younger brothers and uses violence to settle disputes with anyone. He falls in love with Bhagyalaxmi (Pooja Hegde), a Telugu girl whose family is in trouble due to their past rivalry with ‘Rowdy’ Anna (Jagapathi Babu). Bhaijaan decides to help them secretly without their knowledge and faces many challenges along the way.

The film is a typical Salman Khan entertainer that delivers what it promises: action, comedy, romance and drama. The film has hilarious moments, especially involving Bhaijaan’s brothers and their love interests.

The chemistry between Salman Khan and Pooja Hegde is also refreshing and charming. The action sequences are well-choreographed and thrilling, especially the climax fight scene. The songs are catchy and suit the mood of the film.

The film, however, suffers from some drawbacks. The story is predictable and cliched, with no surprises or twists. The film also drags in some parts, especially in the second half. The dialogues are cheesy and repetitive at times. The film relies too much on Salman Khan’s star power and charisma, leaving little scope for other actors to shine.

Audience response

The film has received a mixed response from the audience. While some have praised the film’s entertainment value and Salman Khan’s performance, others have criticized it for its lack of originality and logic. The film was also unfavorably compared with the original Tamil version, which was more engaging and realistic.

The film has received a rating of 6.5 out of 10 on IMDb, based on 4 critic reviews and 2.5K user ratings. The film has also received a rating of 3 out of 5 stars on the Times of India, based on 1 critic review.

Box office prediction

The film has opened to a good response at the box office, thanks to the Eid holiday and Salman Khan’s fan following. According to trade analysts, the film collected around ₹25 crore on its first day of release. The film is expected to witness growth over the weekend and could cross ₹100 crore mark in its first week.
