The Plot

The show begins with additional judge Rajivsen Gupta being arrested over changing verdicts in exchange for sexual favors. He is also accused of bribery and corruption charges. His wife (Kajol) slaps him when he tries to pacify her. His house, car, and all his assets are frozen. The Mumbai Police take him into custody.

His wife is Noyonika Sengupta, who was a top lawyer before joining a friend’s law firm and came 20 minutes late to the office on the first day.. The media mocks the couple for allowing this to happen when they have two underage daughters.

The Performance

Kajol delivers a stellar performance as Noyonika, who is a strong, smart, and confident woman who does not shy away from challenging the system. She portrays Noyonika’s passion, determination, and vulnerability with ease and grace. She also has great chemistry with Kubbra Sait as Sana, who plays Anjali, her assistant and confidante.

Kubbra is equally impressive as Sheeba Chaddha as Malini Khanna, who is an ambitious and curious reporter who wants to expose the truth behind the case. She brings freshness and energy to the screen and complements Kajol’s character well.

The Verdict

“The Trial” is a gripping and engaging legal drama that keeps the viewers hooked with its twists and turns. The show has a tight script, a talented cast, and a realistic portrayal of the Indian judicial system.
