Travis Scott’s concert at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt is scheduled for July 28. Fifteen minutes later, the concert tickets were all sold out. However, authorities denied the rapper’s previous “Devilish behavior” at the concert, despite claiming that he “respects Allah and regularly goes to the church regularly.”
Speaking to Al-Masry Al-Youm, spox Mohamed Abdullah of the Egyptian Federation of Music Professionals confirmed that the license fee had been reimbursed to the clubs. Claims of the rapper’s problematic activities stem from the 2021 Travis Scott Astroworld music festival, which allegedly showcased demonic symbols, including an inverted cross, a circle, and all eyes, “enhancing the representation of the symbols and images of this concert,” according to a study in Daeng.
On July 18, the leader of the group, Mustafa Kemal, made a statement explaining why the concert was canceled.
The concert, sponsored by the Egyptian Tourism Authority, sold out shortly after it went on sale, with prices varying between 4,000 and 6,500 Egyptian liras.
Travis Scott has more than 50 million followers on Spotify and is considered an expert by international media and music magazines. His music has over 1 billion views on YouTube and is especially popular with young Egyptians and rap fans.
“The syndicate has invited all sorts of social occasions over the past few months, but all have fallen in line with set conditions to guarantee that the traditions and conventions of the Egyptian society are not damaged”, the explanation reads.
“Based on investigate and recorded data approximately interesting customs at Travis’ concerts that are ‘inconsistent’ with our bona fide societal values and conventions,” the declaration added.
Soon after the articulation, Live Country, the promoter of the concert, invalidated the news by discharging their explanation,
“There have been no changes to Travis Scott’s appear in Egypt; any reports to the opposite are untrue,” including, “We can’t hold up to celebrate Ideal world with you in Egypt!”
But two days afterward, the concert’s status was still negative, driving Kylie Jenner’s ex to write an open letter to the country’s specialists.
