At Reliance Industries Ltd’s 46th annual meeting on Monday, chairman Mukesh Ambani said that his wife, Nita Ambani, has left the group’s board of directors and will continue to chair the Reliance Foundation.
Ambani also announced in his keynote speech that his children Isha, Akash and Anant have been appointed non-executive RIL board members.
Mukesh Ambani said at the General Assembly on September 19 that the company will launch Jio AirFiber, a wireless indoor device that provides broadband-like connectivity for offices and homes.
“The Board is grateful to Nita Ambani for her leadership as the Founding President of the Reliance Foundation.
Over the years, RF has come a long way in its mission to protect and empower India’s underprivileged and under-resourced communities.
They commended Nita Ambani for calling for a focus on strengthening the Reliance Foundation, which is committed to greater societal change through various new programs and initiatives.
RIL has been active in retail, digital services, electronics and consumer goods for the past few years.
The Board believes that their appointment to the RIL Board will allow RIL to tap into their insights and instil new ideas. “
