‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Chapter 240 Spoilers: Kenjaku and Takaba’s Battle Takes an Unexpected Turn

We thought that the next JJK chapter would continue with Kenjaku’s battle against Takaba as in chapter 239. We saw Kenjaku defeating Iori Hazenoki and other Culling game players. He emphasized that he had marked every player with a cursed technique and can easily find any player he wanted  

However, Takaba Fumihiko was seen fighting Kenjaku but his attacks were not effective on him. We can expect the official translation in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump issue 48 which will be released on October 29, 2023, at 12 a.m. JST.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 240 spoilers: Takaba’s Cursed Technique as Kenjaku 

In chapter 240 of Jujutsu Kaisen the characters engage in a discussion about their strategy to defeat Kenjaku and prevent him from merging the people of Japan with Tengen.

They come to the realization that they must confront Kenjaku before taking on Sukuna. They express concern about dividing their attack force. Angel proposes the idea of sending Takaba to confront Kenjaku.

No one believed Angel when she claimed she couldn’t reveal Takaba’s Cursed Technique, not  himself. She started explaining it. Then the storyline abruptly shifted to Takaba and Kenjaku.

Kenjaku’s  centipede Curses didn’t inflict any harm on Takaba. In a twist Takaba trapped Kenjaku in a bandana and a glass as a playful gesture. 

It dawned on Kenjaku that Takaba’s Cursed Technique had the power to manifest his imagination into reality. Despite his knowledge spanning thousands of years Kenjaku realized it wouldn’t be enough to defeat Takaba.

During their conversation Kenjaku revealed that every Cursed Technique has a weakness. They also reminisced about a comedy competition in which Takaba emerged victorious in the past.

What Is Kenjaku’s Real Motive?

Through their exchange of words Takaba discovered that Kenjaku sought to drive evolution because he found it intriguing. Determined to make an impact, Takaba concluded that making Kenjaku laugh was crucial.

Takaba attempted to brighten Kenjaku’s  mood with his jokes. Finding them amusing, Kenjaku opted to offer some critiques. 

Takaba heavily relies on his confidence as a technique, which made it clear to Kenjaku that he could gain the hand by undermining Takaba’s self assurance. 

Taking advantage of this realization Kenjaku managed to strike a nerve with Takaba provoking his anger and prompting him to issue a challenge; a game where the objective’s not to laugh.

Takaba tried to bring a smile to Kenjaku’s  face by making an expression. However when Kenjaku unveiled his appearance Takaba couldn’t help but burst into laughter. This gave Kenjaku the opportunity to strike Takaba with force.

With Hazenoki’s lifeless body lying beside him Takaba fell to the ground feeling utterly devoid of confidence. As Kenjaku approached him he started pondering why he ever chose to pursue a career in comedy.
