Watch: Leaked Video Of Yathindra Siddaramaiah Sparks Political Uproar; Opposition Calls For The CM's Blood

After leaked video footage showed Yathindra phoning his father, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and requesting that he “consider names given by him,” the actor faced backlash.

Political Aggression Due To The Leak Of Video

A video shows Yathindra Siddaramaiah, the son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and a former Congress MLA, talking with his father on the phone about “giving only four-Five”—a move of government personnel, it is assumed—has sparked a political uproar in the state.

Yathindra was called a “shadow CM” by the opposition JDS and BJP, who also attacked the Congress administration for widespread transfer corruption. Despite Siddaramaiah’s denial, the video has prompted calls from the opposition for his resignation. After leaked video footage showed Yathindra phoning his father, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and requesting that he “consider names given by him,” the actor faced backlash.

This has provided sufficient justification for the former chief minister and JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy to accuse Siddaramaiah of corruption, stating that the topic of discussion in the videotape was “transfer business.” In the video, Yathindra is heard saying in Kannada, “Only to consider 4-5 names given by him,” and stating the name “Vivekananda.”

He gave the documentation for the schools that require maintenance. He claimed that even though he didn’t have to defend it, he was compelled to do so since people were being misled by the fake information that was going around. “Kumaraswamy uses lies, cheating, and betraying trust as his weapons,” he said.

“Yathindra hasn’t disclosed the identities of any officers posts or even mentioned anything that could possibly point to a transfer scam. If he wants a few competent policemen moved to his father’s constituency, what’s wrong with that? Politicians naturally want to assign competent officers to their constituents, he told reporters.

According to Shivakumar, Yathindra has the authority to handle matters pertaining to schools in the constituency since he is the head of the Ashraya committee. According to HC Mahadevappa, Minister of Social Welfare, Yathindra was not discussing transfers. As you may remember, Yathindra faced criticism from the opposition after he spoke at a gathering where it was reported that iron boxes and cookers were given to citizens before the assembly elections.
