All eyes on Lindsay Lohan; Netflix’s ‘Irish Wish’ Trailer packed with laughter and romance

Lindsay in upcoming rom-com 'Irish Wish'

Iconic actress Lindsay Lohan is back with another Netflix project that looks quite promising. The trailer for her latest film, ‘Irish Wish,’ is packed with laughter, chaos, drama, and romance. On March 15, 2024, Janeen Damian will be the film’s director.

Plot of ‘Irish Wish’

Lindsay plays the role of Maddy Kellie, whose love of life gets engaged to her best friend. Despite being heartbroken, Maddie travels to Ireland to be a bridesmaid at her best friend’s wedding.

But, seeing the would-be groom, who is her crush, she feels horrendous. She calls up her mother, Rosemary (played by Jane Seymour), and says: “I can’t help but think that things would be different if I had told Paul how I felt.” Soon after her confession, things started to go awry. Her Wish came true, and Maddie woke up as the bride-to-be instead of her best friend!

A plot similar to ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’?

Although the plot sounds similar to ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’, there are subtle differences. Irish Wish is a rom-com fantasy that involves fantastic elements like wish-granting that lead to the swapping of Maddie’s life with her best friend.

However, in ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’, there is a realistic touch to the whole movie, and although the female lead couldn’t get the groom in the end, who was her best friend, she makes peace with reality and moves on with her life.

However, in ‘Irish Wish’, viewers can definitely wish for the likelihood of an excellent romantic ending. Lindsay has previously worked in similar roles of swapping lives with others in the films ‘Just My Luck’ and ‘Freaky Friday’.
