Pakistan gets ready to clash with New Zealand in a thrilling five-match T20 series at home. This series marks the return of Babar Azam as captain, along with the exciting comebacks of seasoned bowlers Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim to international cricket.
“The decision to include Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir was a straightforward one, given their availability for selection and considering Haris Rauf’s injury and Mohammad Nawaz’s current form,” selector Wahab Riaz said. “Both Amir and Imad possess undeniable match-winning capabilities, and we trust they will consistently deliver strong performances to bolster the team’s objectives.”
New Zealand arrived in Pakistan on April 14 to play the series from April 18 to 27.
Pakistan Squad: Babar Azam (captain), Abrar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohmmad Amir, Muhammad Irfan Niazi, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Usama Mir, Usman Khan and Zaman Khan.
The schedule for the PAK vs NZ T20I series is as follows:
- 1st T20I – Thursday, April 18th – Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi.
- 2nd T20I – Sat, 20 April – Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi
- 3rd T20 – 21st of April – Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi
- 25th April – T20I – 4th – Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore
- 5th T20I – Saturday, April 27 – Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
This will be the first time the two sides have met since New Zealand’s 4-1 T20I series win in January. Pakistan will have the chance to avenge their previous loss and commence their World Cup campaign with a win.
Even though New Zealand has some big stars missing from the line-up, their young guns are ready to surprise us.
