'Rathnam' Tamil film stars Vishal as an angry young man!

‘Rathnam’ is an upcoming Tamil language action drama. Starring actor Vishal, the film is directed by Hari and is packed with daunting fight sequences, punchlines, vicious villains, and a political ruse. Vishal will play the role of Rathnam, “an angry young man” who goes after goons after the female lead in the film gets abducted.

The film will be released in Tamil and Telugu languages and hit the theatres on April 26, 2024.

‘Rathnam’ marks the third collab between Vishal and Hari

Vishal and director Hari first collaborated on the film ‘Thamarabharani’ released in 2006. After that, the duo worked for the second time in the 2014 film ‘Poojai.’ The film ‘Rathnam’ is the third work for both Vishal and Hari together. The female lead for the film will star actress Priya Bhavani Shankar.

Vishal was last seen in the film ‘Mark Antony,’ directed by Adhik Ravichandran. The film also included a star cast, including SJ Suryah, Ritu Varma, Selvaraghavan, and YG Mahendran. Mini Studios and GV Prakash Kumar financed the movie as the music composer. Vijay Velukkutty handled the film’s editing while Abhinandan Ramanujan operated the camera.

Vishal took to the social media platform ‘X’ to share the news of his upcoming film.

Other than Vishal and Priya Bhavani Shankar in lead roles, the film also features actors Yogi Babu, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Samuthirakani, Murali Sharma, and others in important roles.

In collaboration with Zee Studios Invenio Origin, Stone Bench Films has funded the film. The music for the movie was composed by Devi Sri Prasad, a National award winner, while M Sukumar took care of the camera work.
