Forbes released the list of highest-paid actresses in Hollywood, and this time, Jennifer Lawrence’s long reign at the top spot has been ended by the ravishing Emma Stone, who made a whopping $26 million in pre-tax earnings in this year up to June.
For Emma Stone, this is a very successful year, as she has also won the Academy Award in the ‘Best Actress’ category for her brilliant performance as a struggling performer in the movie “La La Land”. The earnings of Emma Stone marked a rise of 160 percent when compared to her revenue of $10 million in 2016.
Jennifer Lawrence dropped down to the third spot
Jennifer Lawrence, who topped the list in 2016, ended up in the third spot this year with a revenue of $24 million, just over half of the amount the “The Hunger Games” heroine made a year before.
In 2015, Jennifer Lawrence also stood in the top spot in the list of highest-paid actresses released by Forbes. Last year, Jennifer Lawrence appeared in “Passengers” with Chris Pratt, but unfortunately, the movie ended up as a box-office dud. Critics also panned the film, and many of them strongly criticized Jennifer for her over-the-board acting.
With the end number of endorsements worldwide, Jennifer Anniston stood at the second spot with estimated earnings of $25 million.
Melissa McCarthy and Mila Kunis are in the fourth and fifth spots with earnings of $18 and $15 million respectively. The remaining five members in the top ten lists are Amy Adams, Emma Watson, Charlize Theron, Julia Roberts, and Cate Blanchet.
Forbes is expected to release the list of highest-paid Hollywood actors later this week. This list is expected to show men once again earning more than their female counterparts.
It should be noted that Emma Stone has recently talked about the gender gap which prevails in Hollywood when it comes to remuneration. Last year, Dwayne Johnson topped the list of male actors with an estimated revenue of $64.5 million.
Deepika Padukone expelled from the top ten list
The surprise addition to the list of actresses in the 2016 list was Indian actress Deepika Padukone, who made it to the tenth spot with earnings of $10 million. Fans of Deepika believes that the ravishing actress will make her way to this list in the next year, as she has a dozen lucrative endorsements.
