Covid-19 vaccine registration for 18+ from today at Cowin.Gov.in

As the country is going through a lot recently and individuals are frustrated with the pandemic, there seems to be a ray of hope. The cases seem to rise every day, leaving people hopeless. Citizens are now not just sick but sick, unemployed, and sad.

The age group from 45 and above was getting vaccinated to date, but now the registration is open for those from 18 to 45. This facility has started from 4 pm today, 28th April 2021. Let’s check out the details to be followed, as mentioned in the Times of India.

Where to register, when, and how?

To register for free vaccination from the government, those concerned are advised to visit the Arogya Setu, Umang, and Cowin apps. Registering today does not make anyone eligible for vaccination right away. The vaccination of the 18+ will start only on 1st May and not before that. Till then, only the above 45 aged citizens are allowed.

You can register for the vaccine at the COWIn site here.

The information required would include a photo id of the candidate. While registering with a particular mobile number, it should be kept in mind that one mobile number can only allow four registrations, i.e., four candidates. For every other app which is not Cowin, there is a portal linking it to Cowin, and that portal needs to be opened for registration. On the day of vaccination, carrying the registration slip sent via message in the mobile number is mandatory.

The documents allowed to be used as photo proofs include Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Health Insurance, PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID, Pension document, Service ID cards, Passbooks of banks/post offices, official identity cards issued to MLAs, MPs, and MLCs.

Information about the date of vaccination and states eligible right now:

The date of vaccination will be sent by a mobile message. The date and time will be mentioned in the SMS. Each state will receive over a crore vaccine and 80 lakhs added to the same after a few days. This includes not only the government hospitals but the private ones as well.

While states like UP, Maharashtra, Bihar, Gujarat, and Jharkhand have an abundance of vaccines in stock, states like Goa and Karnataka are unsure about the vaccination. While Goa is out of stock and will be unable to start the third phase vaccination on time, Karnataka will allowed not receive vaccines from the government right now due to pressure on the stock and will have to buy directly from the manufacturers. So people from Karnataka, make sure that you get vaccinated from government agencies for now.
