Many hearts were broken when actress Alia Bhatt tweeted that she is engaged. But it was just a promotional stunt for her upcoming movie “2 States” with actor Arjun Kapoor.
The actress also included an invitation to her engagement ceremony in the tweet. The movie is based on the book “2 States” by Chetan Bhagat.
The makers released two posters so far of the movie and the trailer is released on February 28 at noon. The first poster shows the leads reaching for each other while a map is shown between them indicating the distance between their culture. The second poster shows the leads and their respective parents on each side looking at each other with suspicion.
The love story spans from North to South India, the two extreme ends with cultural differences. While Arjun Kapoor plays a typical Punjabi munda, Alia plays a South Indian girl. Both fall in love only to realize later that their cultural differences are a wall for their marriage.
Actress Amrita Singh and Ronit Roy are seen as Arjun’s parents while actress Revathy is seen in the role of Alia’s mother. Written by Chetan Bhagat and Directed by Abhishek Yarnan, “2 States” movie is slated to hit the theaters on April 18, 2014.
