‘Dr Strange In the Multiverse of Madness’ Trailer Debuts During Super Bowl 2022

Marvel published a new teaser during the Super Bowl, as it does almost every year, and it confirms what was promised at the end of No Way Home: the multiverse is in shambles, and it’s up to Stephen Strange to put things right.

Directed by Sam Raimi.

Starring:

  • Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange
  • Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff
  • Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez
  • Rachel McAdams as Dr. Christine Palmer
  • Benedict Wong as Wong
  • Michael Stuhlbarg as Dr. Nicodemus West
  • Chiwetel Ejiofor as Mordo

Releasing on 6 May 2022 in theatres only.

Plot:

Dr. Stephen Strange uses a dangerous spell to open the door to the multiverse, which includes an alternate version of himself whose threat to the world is too enormous for Dr. strange, Wanda and Wong to deal with.

The narrative is inspired by the reality-warping events of Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which Strange messed with the fabric of space and time to aid Peter Parker. Wanda has been isolated since she tinkered with the psyches of a whole community in Wanda Vision, and Strange seeks her help. Wanda appears to be bitter in this trailer and appears to be more of a villain.

There’s also a sight of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), as the Scarlet Witch, battling someone. It appears to be Captain Marvel, but it might also be Monica Rambeau, the daughter of Captain Marvel’s deceased best friend Maria Rambeau, wielding her Wanda Vision powers.

America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), who has the ability to open tunnels in reality and jump through the multiverse in the comics, will also be introduced in this journey.

Doctor Strange, Avengers: Endgame, Wanda Vision, and Spider-Man: No Way Home are all sequels, with interphase to Loki’s first season.
