Day 5 IPL7: RR vs KXIP

An upbeat Rajasthan Royals, who won their opening Indian Premier League 7 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad took on Kings XI Punjab. KXIP registered an impressive victory against RR in the seventh match of the current season that took place on Sunday at the Sharjah stadium.RRvskixp

Batting for Royals, a miss communication between batsmen Ajinkya Rahane and Abhishek Nayar caused Rahane 13 (8b) to be run out. Then Nayar 23 (20b) was declared out on Murali Kartik’s bowling for lbw.

Skipper Shane Watson had completed his fifty runs in just 28 balls but got out on the next ball. Binny got caught by Miller on Johnson’s bowling for 12(8b). Samson was bowled out by Awana for a score of 52(34 b). Final score of Rajasthan stood at 191/5.

In reply, KXIP lost Virender Sehwag early for a mere 2 (7 b) runs when he was caught out by Binny on Kulkarni’s bowling. Punjab further faltered when Wriddhiman Saha was caught out on Faulkner’s bowling with Kulkarni catching this time.

Pujara’s catch was dropped by Tambe in the fifth over as he went on batting along with Maxwell building a strong partnership. At 13 overs, KIVP score stood at 120/2. In over 14 Maxwell got caught by Smith on Richardson’s bowling. He scored 89 runs off 45 balls.

 

From there Miller took the score forward. After 17 overs, the score stood at 155/3 and 27 runs came in 18th over jumping the score to 182/3 . In 19 overs the target of 193 runs was reached with Miller completing his fifty and giving victory to Rajasthan.
