Kings XI Punjab is in a comfortable position for now, but they would like to retain the top spot on the table for the rest of the tournament, as well. For defending champions Mumbai Indians, this has been a substandard season altogether, and with limited matches, they cannot afford another loss here.

Much of the action from KXIP squad has been from Glenn Maxwell, while for the bowling, the team has been quite dependent on the perfect deliveries by Sandeep Sharma. Not much is expected to change today for the team. If their bowling squad does the right job, it is likely they will create ripples in the otherwise commendable MI lineup.

Manan Vohra and Akshar Patel are other two players to note for the day. The youngsters have done when expected, which adds to the team.

For Mumbai Indians, they will miss not having Malinga, who is now playing for his home team. They have Michael Hussey, who can start the top order in style. There’s Kieron Pollard and skipper Rohit Sharma to lend support in between. If Hussey can team again with Lendl Simmons, they can create the right score to allow KXIP to chase.

MI bowlers would like to avoid wide deliveries, which were few in the last outing against RR.
