The makers recently released a deleted scene from the Tamil film “Kaththi,” starring Ilayathalapathy Vijay.
The movie, directed by famed A.R. Murugadoss, had faced the ire of many Tamil national groups upon release.
Mainly, the opposition from Tamil national groups came from the ground that the producers have links with the relatives of Mahinda Rajapaksa- The president of Sri Lanka. Lyca Productions have produced the movie.
There were many protests across the state against the release of the film. However, the makers found some relief with support pouring in from CPI (M) and its associated organizations.
Also, reports had mentioned that the ownership of the plot was also under scanner. Despite all the negativities, “Kaththi” garner excellent reviews from critics and masses alike.

The makers probably released a deleted scene from the movie, intending to get more viewers and garner additional buzz for the film.
“Kaththi” went on to make it big at the box office, but since last week, the collections have dropped, mainly due to the release of few small budget films, said a report on International Business Times.
The movie, however, has raked in Rs. 7 crores in the Chennai circle along and has proved to be a profitable venture to one and all, including leading actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu who has been eyeing a hit.
It also holds the record of being the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2014.
