CWC 2023: Netherlands Crush Oman to Stay in Contention

The Netherlands crushed Oman by 99 runs in their Super Six match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023 on Monday, keeping their hopes alive of securing a place in the tournament.
Put in to bat, the Netherlands posted a daunting 362-7 in their 48 overs, thanks to centuries from Max O’Dowd (120) and Bas de Leede (102). Oman’s bowlers were all at sea, with Kaleemullah (2-59) the pick of the bowlers.

In reply, Oman never looked like getting anywhere near the target, and were bowled out for 263 in 44 overs. Zeeshan Maqsood top-scored for Oman with 67, but the rest of the batsmen struggled against the Dutch bowlers.

The win puts the Netherlands in third place in the Super Six table, with two wins and two losses. They will need to win their remaining two matches to guarantee a place in the World Cup, but they will be confident of doing so after their performance
against Oman.
