Australia retains the Ashes as the rain spoilsport the Day 5

The fourth test between Australia and England in Manchester ended in a draw as Day 5 was totally rain affected as no overs could be bowled. With this, Australia retains ashes.

Day 4 was also rain-affected. Only 30 overs were bold on day 4, but the game could not be resumed on day 5 as there were a wet outfield and a lot of rain throughout the day.
Zak Crawley was awarded player of the match for his 189-run inning for England.

English captain Ben Stokes said postgame that they would have expected to win this match at any cost; they got them out for 320 and scored 590.

They were top of the game, but the weather did not allow them to win the game, and he said that he was very ready to play the next match and wished to win it.
The Aussie captain at Cummins felt that he was happy to retain the Ashes, not ideally the way he would have done that but that’s how to game goes, he said.
