'Tere Ishk Mein': Aanand L. Rai and Dhanush Reunite for Tragic Love Story

Aanand L. Rai and Dhanush, who have collaborated twice before in ‘Raanjhanaa’ and ‘Atrangi Re’, are coming together again for the tragic love story ‘Tere Ishk Mein,’ centered around a passionate character named Shekhar. On the tenth anniversary of Raanjhanaa, Aanand L. Rai revealed their upcoming project, stating that ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ shares the same universe as Raanjhanaa with characters resonating a similar heartbeat. While fans are eagerly anticipating this film, further details have been kept under wraps.

According to reports, Aanand L. Rai and Dhanush are set to start shooting ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ in November 2023. Rai’s writing team, including Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, is nearing completion of the script, and pre-production is scheduled for October. The movie will be extensively filmed in Uttar Pradesh, and while Dhanush will portray the role of the fiery Shekhar, the female lead is yet to be finalized. Several actresses are under consideration, but no official announcement has been made. The filmmakers plan to shoot the movie over three months, targeting a mid-2024 release.

After wrapping up his ongoing projects in the South, Dhanush will begin shooting for Aanand L. Rai’s film. He is currently working on his second directorial, ‘D50,’ a gangster drama featuring Dhanush, SJ Suryah, and Vishnu Vishal as three brothers. Following that, Dhanush will join Sekhar Kammula’s large-scale Pan-India film in September. Once these commitments are fulfilled, he will dedicate his time to ‘Tere Ishk Mein,’ followed by Vetrimaaran’s project centered around the Kolar Gold Field. Dhanush’s upcoming film, ‘Captain Miller,’ directed by Arun Matheshwaran, is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 15, 2023, narrating the story of the LTTE activist ‘Captain Miller’ in the 1940s.

As a producer, Aanand L. Rai has an exciting lineup of projects, including Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey’s ‘Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba,’ an action thriller, a pure satire, and an entertaining social drama. Additionally, he is likely to direct a web series next year. With successful films like Raanjhanaa, the Tanu Weds Manu franchise, Zero, Atrangi Re, and Raksha Bandhan in his repertoire, Aanand L. Rai continues to be a prominent figure in the industry.
