The movie is not as good as its sequel that released in 2011.

NDTV Movies wrote; “The 2011 sleeper hit of which Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 is an ill-advised repeat act was a passable, if seriously dodgy, romantic comedy in which women were blamed for all the troubles of mankind.

“”Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2” does pretty much the same, but the novelty has worn off and it is saddled with an insufferably inept screenplay.

Actor Karthik in an interview to The Times of India, said about the movie and his role in it; ““This movie is about a boy and a girl when they come together, how boys get stuck into the relationship.

“We have just tried to show various things that happen in a relationship. The dialogues are used as mostly two boys converse with each other, so as such there is nothing called adult,”
