Microsoft Corp. said on Nov 7th that its latest browser, Internet Explorer 11 is now available to users of Windows 7 also.

IE 11 for Windows 7

It is available for users as a free download. The browser for Windows 7 includes improvements of IE 11 offered in Windows 8 with no touch screen support.

Microsoft says that the browser will surpass the browsing experiences offered by Chrome and Firefox. IE11 in Windows 7 supports WebGL which means the browser supports HTML5-driven Web sites such as Google Maps. You can download IE 11 for Windows 7 here.

It suports SPDY protocol, includes a better F12 developer tools and has improved Web Security features. The new browser had been part of the Windows 8.1 upgrade which was released last month.

Microsoft said that IE11 browser is 9% faster than IE10 and 30% faster than its competitors. The browser improves the performance of websites that use JavaScript and also enables better rendering of 3-D graphics, allowing users to manipulate 3-D objects on-screen.

Microsoft Singapore has come up with new cartoon character, Inori Aizawa to market the browser. The anime girl was created to draw attention to IE11 as well as Microsoft Windows powered Nokia phones and Surface tablets. The anime video is going to be screened at the ongoing Anime Festival Asia in Singapore
