The AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi who is on a three-day visit to Uttar Pradesh, announced in Ayodhya said that the jailed mafia don-turned-politician Atiq Ahmad his wife, have joined his party. He also said that his party would surely win the elections, and this victory will be the victory of all the Muslims of the state.
The mafia don is a former Lok Sabha MP of the Samajwadi Party has more than 200 criminal cases consisting of murder, fraud, extortion, illegal mining intimidation against him. He is currently a prisoner in Gujarat.
As per the reports of Times Now, justifying the joining of Atiq Ahmad, he took a dig at BJP, saying that even they have an MP with terror charges against her, referring to Pragya Singh Thakur, who is one of the seven accused in the Malegaon blast case in 2008. He further added that many other BJP leaders have cases against them in Muzaffarnagar and are considered popular leaders. Still, if it’s Mukhtar Ansari or Atiq Ahmad, then those cases will stick. He went on claiming that BJP ally JDU has 81% MPs with cases against them. As per media, Owaisi even alleged that SP and the BSP used Muslims as slaves only for their vote politics.
