We have been able to play android games on windows for some time now via android emulators. Android emulators, such as bluestack, have become very popular in recent years due to the increasing popularity of android games. A few months back, Microsoft started testing android apps on windows 11 PCs. And now google announces that it’ll be bringing android apps on windows pcs from next year.

Google’s product director of games on Android and Google Play, Greg Hartrell told the verge “players will be able to experience their favorite Google Play games more devices” starting next year.

This decision came in as android has been trying to make the platform more accessible and convenient while expanding it. Greg Hartrell also told The Verge that this would allow users to play their favorite games “seamlessly switching between a phone, tablet, Chromebook, and soon, Windows PCs.”

He added,” we are thrilled to expand our platform for players to enjoy their favorite Android games even more.”

How Will It Work?

Google will launch its own app in which users can play android games and use other Google services. Google spokesman confirmed that google had built this app on its own, so it hasn’t partnered with Microsoft. A few months ago, Microsoft partnered with Amazon to launch a similar system in windows 11.

“This will be a native Windows app distributed by Google, which will support Windows 10 and up,” explains Hartrell. “It will not involve game streaming.” Google’s app won’t rely on any unique integration with Windows 11, and the company will also distribute the app itself.

Also, as mentioned earlier, this is a standalone application. It will not involve game streaming. So you’ll need to download every app and install it on the app. Also, since it’s a google play platform, you’ll need to log in to your google account to download apps.
