The film’s budget was estimated to be around $237 million due to a groundbreaking array of new visual effects Cameron achieved in cooperation with Weta Digital in Wellington. The film collected $2.923 billion at the box office.

'Avatar: The Way of Water' run time 30 minutes longer than the first film?

While the sequel approaches its release date, the film’s runtime has reportedly been revealed by different online sources. According to some sources, its length is nearly 30 minutes longer than the first installment.

Set over a decade after the events of 2009’s ‘Avatar,’ the most awaited sequel will revisit the world of Pandora. AMC Theatres and Regal Cinemas announced that the sequel reportedly clocks in at 192 minutes.

Following all the reports related to the upcoming film, it will possibly be 30 minutes longer than the first film, making it one of the longest movies of the year. Initial reports showed that the runtime was 3 hours and 10 minutes long. When the filming process was incomplete, and there were constant delays, people were concerned about the film’s overall duration, reports ScreenRant.

Director James Cameron also defended the film’s length, saying that people prefer to watch a movie on television for several hours. Still, they complain about sitting in a theater for the same time. According to Cameron, since the film has more characters than the first film, it is expected to be longer.

‘Avatar: The Way of Water is scheduled to be released on December 16, 2022, and it stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, CCH Pounder, and others in the lead roles.
