Golden State Stimulus

Californians who got the Golden State Stimulus (GSS) I and II had their MCTR debit card payments distributed to them between late October and December 10, 2022. While the receivers of GSS I or II checks with last names starting with W to Z ought to have received their debit cards from December 4 to December 10, this was not the case. Payments will now be made to non GSS beneficiaries with last names starting with A through K from December 5 to December 17. Residents will either receive debit cards in the mail or payments via direct deposit. Applications were not required because qualifying taxpayers will be compensated automatically.

Eligibility

The amount you must pay varies based on your California gross pay, from $200 to $1,050. The MCTR website states that taxpayers who submitted their 2020 tax returns by October 15, 2021, are eligible for compensation. The income thresholds for California should be met by them. In the 2020 tax year, they were ineligible to be declared dependent. They resided in California for at least six months of the 2020 tax year. At the time the payment is issued, they are residents of California.

Just keep in mind that, depending on the financial institution, direct payments may not always happen within 3 to 5 business days of the issue date. The time it takes for the recipient to get their debit card via mail after it is issued is up to two weeks. Californians will be paid via debit card or direct deposit. The same method of payment will be used for taxpayers who digitally submitted their 2020 tax returns and got their refunds by direct deposit reports The U.S. Sun.
