NEW DELHI- The recent complaints of potholes have come under the scanner of the previous government in New Delhi. The Delhi Congress blamed the AAP government for criminal negligence and will highlight this issue through WhatsApp.

The Congress party has invited people to post regular pictures of roads with potholes that have been damaged by rain. These images will circulate the social media through the chatting app.

To highlight the grievances of the people residing in the Capital, workers of the party started a campaign which was named ‘JaagoYaBhaago.’

In this protest, the workers put fake crocodiles and sharks into the potholes of South Delhi’s Munirka. This move was to symbolize that Delhi roads are becoming as dangerous as these animals.

The rain in Delhi has been a relief for some but for the motorcyclist, it has become a nightmare.

A Recent report of a death of a motorcyclist on the Mehrauli-Mahipalpur road in Vasant Kunj on July 30 has been blamed because of poor maintenance of the road. He was a resident of Uttam Nagar.

In keeping with the gravity of the situation, Ajay Maken Delhi Congress president has announced on Monday that it will start a campaign on Whatsapp No 9891160771.

This campaign will run not only against the Delhi government but also the BJP run MCDs. Both the parties are to be equally blamed for the deteriorating road connection.

The former ruling party has invited resident of the city to upload pictures of potholes and also the name of the roads where it has been found. The correct detail of the sender along with their personal grievances should be there.

One other tragic incident that took place some time back was when a man was mowed down by a tanker when he fell into a flooded pothole. This accident took place in Vasant Kunj one of the posh areas of Delhi.

From the time this incident has been reported the opposition are doing everything in their power to make the Delhi government aware about the disturbing road condition.

The aim of the campaign is to pressurize the AAP government, and BJP run MCDs to take quick measures against the potholes. Ajay Maken said it would also pressurize both the parties to fill these potholes for the safety of the people at the earliest.

Also participating in this campaign were Chief Spokesperson Sharmistha Mukherjee, Chattar Singh Senior Party Leader and Virendra Kasana New Delhi District Congress Committee President and Municipal Councillor.
