Ten people were wounded in a shooting in downtown Denver, Colorado, on Tuesday night, hours after the city’s NBA team won the championship, police said.
The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. local time in a crowded area near the city’s Civic Center, where thousands of people had gathered to celebrate the Nuggets’ victory over the Golden State Warriors.
Police said the shooting appeared to be a random act of violence. They said no arrests had been made and that they were still searching for the shooter.
The victims were taken to local hospitals, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
