Colombo: Visitors stun hosts as Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by innings and 222 runs in the second Test.

Pakistan came over as favourites in both the test match, while Sri Lanka didn’t put up a show at all, they would want  to play some better cricket in the upcoming series .

 

Abdullah Shafiq was awarded player of the match while Agha Salman was chosen as player of the series. Both the players completely outplayed the opposition through out the series.

In the morning of day 4, Pakistan chose to declare as Rizwan hit a half-century and Agha Salman  was not out on 132, Sri Lanka, while batting, couldn’t give the start that there openers would have thought to give the first wicket fell on 9 run Nishan Madhusha Got run out by Shaan Masood in Sri Lanka or again reduced to 36 for 4 in span of 14.1 overs
Abrar Ahmed once again pick the four wickets in his 20 over and Naseem Shah picks the three wickets. Dhananjay De Silva was top scorer for Sri Lanka with 57 runs of 68 balls and Dinesh Chandimal too contributed with his 34 runs of 64 balls.

  • Pak declared on 576-5  As Rizwan scored a 50 and Agha Salman scored 132*
  • Sri Lanka batters couldn’t  start on what is said to be a perfect start as 1st wicket fell on 9 runs
  • Eventually, they were reduced to 36-4.
  • Dananjay de Silva and Dinesh Chandimal rescued them, but their efforts were in vain as the other batters did not stood up
  • De Silva was the top scorer with 57, and Chandimal scored 34.
  • Sri Lanka Got bowled out for 188 in the 2nd innings.
  • Agha Salman was man of the match,Pakistan won the series by 2-0.

Pakistan won the away test series. It couldn’t be any better for Pakistan while Sri Lanka has to look down upon mistakes they have done, the kind of cricket their played, and what more as a group could they need to do in this cycle of WTC.
