The second day’s play of the 2nd cricket Test between India vs Sri Lanka at the P Sara Stadium, concluded with the Sri Lankans score of 140 for the loss of 3 wickets.

India still has a lead of 253 runs, which will force the Lankan batsmen to bat on the third day on which the pitch will play a significant role and will help spinners the most.

Jk Silva, the only batsmen to score a half century, helped the Lankan score to reduce the lead, at the score of 51 Amit Mishra took his wicket.

Sangakkara, playing in his last Test, fought hard for his 32 runs scored from 87 balls, though he was dropped on 24 by Ajinkya Rahane. Later his wicket was taken by R Ashwin for the third time in this series.

R Ashwin, Umesh Yadav and Amit Mishra took one wicket each from the Indian side.

While Sri Lanka still trail India by 253 runs, will be concerned about their batting as the pitch will not be stable and will help the spinners to turn the ball.

Virat Kohli will look to wind up the Lankan batting, with a good lead so that the Indian batsmen can quickly build up their second innings.

Whereas the Lankan captain Angelo Mathews, will try his best to win this test and give a winning farewell to Kumar Sangakkara.
